Catching Up I
INSANE amount of photos that need to be updated. Hence, let the pictures say all that has to be said:
16 March: Cafe Samar
Baby and I were staggering along Kampong Glam in intense hunger when we saw this exotic looking middle-eastern restaurant- Cafe Samar. Nice ambience, exotic, interesting looking dishes... Lovely.
We were recommended the second level, where there's a "live band" playing loud Arabian music. Shoes removed, we were told to sit on the persian-carpeted floor.

My exotic drink, the Iced Karkadeh. An arabian hibiscus tea of some sort. Taste somewhat like ribena+rose tea. The clour is adoring, though.

Baby's Roasted Lamb Shank surprised me. I was expecting some tough, need-to-put-up-a-fight-before-it enters-your-mouth lamb. On the contrary, the namby-pamby lamb flakes off the bone with just a light poke. Nice blend of herbs and spices.

My Samak Ma'li, really dory fish diguised in a tasteful blend of flavours. 2 words: yummy yum!

Tucking in...

And *poof! Gone!

For desserts, baby ordered an oh-so-prudent bluebeery cheesecake for us to fall back on...

...because i ordered a funny sounding Basbusa. Seriously, i have no idea what it is. Almond flakes, kinda milky, buttery with a kueh-like layer below. *makes a face.

And so, our Arabian adventure ended with mist from the scented waterpipes in the background, and a bill of $60.30. Whoops. :X
24 Feb: Homemade Japanese Cuisine by Uncle Adrian
An invitation from Uncle Adrian to have lunch over at his place!
Succulent sashimi.
Juice from over 20 different kind of japanese veggies.
Marinated japanese spinach
Salad of corn, asparagus and veined tomatoes in ponzu sauce. It might not look the part, but this dish IS the highlight of the day. That lovely, creamy corn... ahhhh~
Tofu. (There were supppose to be 9 cubes but only 1 survived to go through the photoshoot.)
Homemade soup with enoki mushroom, negi and come citrus skin. Lovely aroma.
Gindara
Kobe beef with Butter lettuce
$69.00 Japanese Musk Melon
Ichigo!
Distorted Mutsu apple!
Some time ago: Bakerzin I remember having this intense craving for souffle. And so, baby and I headed down to good old Bakerzin for some relief.
During the 20mins wait for our souffle, we can't help but to wander over to the cake counter...
I got myself a demure-looking Charlotte.

And baby, his favourite Strawberry Shortcake.

Souffle time!
Chocolate Souffle served with Manjari ice cream.

And Raspberry Souffle served with (surprise surprise!) Raspberry sorbet. p.s. there's liquer in the raspberry souffle. baby didn't like the bitterness. i quite adore :D

OH MY. So many more photos, so little time. Heading out now (BODYSHOP WAREHOUSE SALE!). Will be back :D
